Stolen horses Empty
PostSubject: Stolen horses   Stolen horses EmptyThu Jul 30, 2009 11:42 am

PLEASE let your support be known through the following link and any other media you can think of -

Caballos robados en Burriana

On 15 may this year a man falsified green cards (with the help of a vet) and with the help of the Guardia Civil and Seprona entered a private property and stole 8 horses and a 9 day-old foal. The G.C. didn´t have a judicial order to enter the property and the real owner showed not only his green cards but the registration of the horses (ApHC) their passports and their import papers. Even so the G.C. took the horses, without a ghia and without proper transport (9 horses in a lorry intended for 5). The ´thief´ has left the horses without shade, adequate food and water and is abusing them. The photos on-line only show some of the wounds and treatment (letting a dog bite and terrorise them and the rope wrapped around the tongue of the horse being mounted). The stallion weighed over 600 kilos before he was taken. He now weighs less than 450 kilos. I also have photos of the dam of the foal before and after, showing her now skin and bone and before a robust healthy horse. The stallion appears to have also suffered a blow or something to the head leaving half his face paralised.

What is important now is not proving the owner, it is saving these horses before they are killed. The story doesn´t end (or begin) there. The ´thief´ actually stole the horses nearly 2 years ago. There were 11 originally. The real owner managed to get them back but not before 3 were sold. The ´thief´ is a ´businessman´ who´s business is frozen by the courts, so he would appear to be raising money be stealing horses, or whatever.

As the affiliate for the Appaloosa Club in Andalucía I was informed, on very solid authority, about this only today as the horses in question are Appaloosas.

From here in the province of Málaga I have ascertained the name of the man who has stolen the horses and the name and college number of the vet who helped him. Also the address where the horses are. So please don´t think that being any distance away from the events is reason to think you can´t help or wont be heard. Please leave your opinion, and if you have other contacts please let them know about this situation. The G.C. and Seprona of Burriana will face disciplinary action. We need to be sure this will happen by being the voice for the voiceless. Strangely enough in the day´s of Franco this would not have happened, yet these people are clearly abusing their uniforms and the fear that came with them from those days.
