This is Albert in Competa. East of Malaga, and North of Torre Del Mar. We are at around 2.000feet (600meteres) with rides up to 3.000 locally! I currently have one 15hh John mule called Duke. He is a X Petcheron. Duke is green broke to ride and drive! I also have a 15hh Gypsy Horse called Casper! Casper is 6yo and rides English! I'm hoping to intro him to Western this Spring! I usually check my emails daily so anyone wanting to contact me can do it at mulesspain@yahoo.co.uk. Hope we speak soon.

As I am always on horsy forums in U.K or Australia it is an opportunity not to be missed !! Great to hear of other equine owners and enthusiasts here in Andalucia...especially ones more "mature" than myself ! At the moment I have 3 spanish mares and 2 little shetland type things....and I wonder why ??????

Hope this takes off and wish the best to the instigators.......

Hi Lorraine, Thanks for the welcome. I got my first batch of feeds yesterday from mark. Will start my boys on it in a day or so! I also have a crate of samples in the back of the Berlingo so will hawk those around and hopefully get you more chat room members! Albert. Oh yes! Hows Marks cold?

Hi Kate, where are you? We are quite new to horses having started late in life. Mules have been my passion for almost 10 years now! MY gypsy horse Casper may be my last purchase of an equine? I'm hoping to enjoy him more when my foot is better. He sure is docile, and I need that these days!
I lok forward to hearing more about your horses and the type of riding you do. Albert.

Here am I in UK up north, on the coast it is cold and damp BUT today it is 25!!!, so when I read about all you lucky people being able to hack out or just play with your best friends I think what am I doing here? Would love to be a on a yard where it is clean we have mud-now mud fever, !flies and that last three years have been so wet-However today it is 25 and loving it so I think how lucky you guys are to have this most of the time, for me it will just be today! we only get the odd warm day.

This morning did a little training with one of mine (Alan) the big ball was out now Alan is getting cocky about thinks he plays for Chelsea! Anyway he love the massive ball and he now is so confident I am so proud of him.
Got to go so i can catch a few rays!!

PostSubject: Poppydog in the bleak north!   Tue Jun 23, 2009 4:33 pm

Hi Poppydog

I used to live in the north of UK near York. Where are you? What horses do you have? What discipline do you ride in? Tell us all about yourself.

I breed True Foundation Appaloosas and compete in Endurance. All my horses are barefoot. You can check them out on my web page (still in it´s infancy!) http://www.espiritu-del-viento.com

I remember well riding in all weathers, because that was the only way you were going to get out there! Now I don´t ride when it´s raining. That means about 20 days a year Laughing But the grass is always greener eh? Its no fun schooling horses in 35º any more than it is in the cold and wet.

Life is a journey - Enjoy the ride
